My philosophy…

Singing is about joy, community, and expression. It is vulnerable and transformative from the inside-out. This is why I identify as a heart-centered voice teacher. I ALSO believe in the power of voice science informing our journey to find the sounds and styles we want to sing. My mission is help my students develop a strong, reliable relationship with their instrument, both from a technical and artistic perspective. My goal is to have students leave their lessons feeling better about their voice then we they came in.

PASSIONATE VOICE TEACHER & PERFORMING ARTIST

I began my journey as a singer at the age of 7 singing jingles about things I saw on road trips, memorizing Broadway musical albums, and taking every opportunity along the way to be on a stage. Singing equaled joy. However, as I grew up and trained more, I began to doubt my vocal abilities and my place in the performing arts world. I started to believe that I couldn’t “make it” as a performer. I ultimately took a step back from performing and began teaching to pay the bills. I fell in LOVE with teaching—empowering students to sing the styles they want to sing with confidence, ease, and authenticity. Reignited by my students’ joy of singing, I began my journey into vocal pedagogy, where I stepped into my new identity of voice science nerd and rediscovered my own love of the stage.

My incredible clients have gone on to perform in regional theatre productions, attend prestigious musical theatre and vocal performance programs, and own the magic of their unique voices.
